-The Stanley Hotel @thestanleyhotel , where Stephen King got the idea for “The Shining,” offers several tours for visitors who want to explore the dark side of the hotel. There’s a Spirited Night Tour, The Shining Tour and a new Ice House Tour (aka Frozen Dead Guy Tour). Eek!
-There are also plenty of TREATS at candy shops along Elkhorn road. You can find saltwater taffy, homemade fudge, carmel apples and more.
Glenwood Springs Visit Glenwood Springs #visitglenwood
-Hotel Colorado next to the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool is another haunted hotel. Glamorous as it was during its heyday, it was once a hospital and the basement was used as a crematorium for WWII military personnel.
-Their Ghost Walk hike to Linwood Cemetery with interpreters who share tales of the Wild West is happening at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue…so no hike and no cemetery visit required on Oct 30.
-You can also explore caves with bats at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. There is a Bat Week Celebration happening on October 26th.

-The 30th Annual Emma Crawford Coffin Races are happening this weekend, October 30th! Emma Crawford came to Manitou Springs searching for a cure for tuberculosis, and fell in love with the area. Her dying wish was to be buried at the top of Red Mountain, and after years of harsh winters and spring rains, her coffin came racing down the mountainside. Enjoy great costumes watching enthusiastic teams of five race to take all the glory.
Locally, there are haunted houses and Chatfield farms Denver Botanic Gardens corn maze is open through this weekend! Enjoy!
