MIAMI: Wowed by Wynwood Walls, An Outdoor Street Art Museum
When in Miami, a visit to Wynwood Walls is a must! Travel Vlogger Juliana Broste, "TravelingJules,” takes you there, admiring colorful street art in every direction. With plenty of photo ops in front of stunning designs and statement pieces, Jules also picks up a spray can to get a feel for the Wynwood Experience. All this, and more, only in Miami!
MIAMI: Wynwood Buggie Tour
Another fun way to explore this colorful neighborhood is to book a Buggie Tour with Wynwood Buggies! It’s a great way to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time and hear stories from the local guides.
You can take a Public Art Tour of the Miami Design District or explore around yourself.
I was a big fan of the Fly's Eye Dome in Palm Court, which looks like bubble wrap to me.
And the giant sculpture of an architect “Le Corbusier” is quite impressive.
The Moore Miami is the only hotel in the heart of Miami Design District and the iconic Elastika sculpture is worth a peek!
MIAMI: Exploring the Design District
Miami's Design District is a major shopping destination dedicated to design and dining, art and architecture. Come along with Travel Vlogger Juliana Broste, "TravelingJules,” as she explores this upscale and creative neighborhood. From designer shops to clever coves and even decorative parking garages, let's discover with the design district has to offer!
Where to EAT in Greater Miami and Miami Beach
When it comes to food in Miami, you’re in for a treat! Miami has so many diverse neighborhoods and cuisines to try. Of course, enjoy a food tour with Miami Culinary Tours to get experience Little Havana. Sample some Cuban coffee, my favorite (and the only way) I like to drink coffee (see below).
MIAMI: Little Havana Food + Culture Tour
For a true taste of the flavors and culture of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, Travel Vlogger Juliana Broste, "TravelingJules,” tags along with Miami Culinary Tours. She's kicking things off with a mojito before noshing on delicious bites: a cuban sandwich, an empanada, a churro and more! With stops at local landmarks, like Domino Park and the Bay of Pigs monument, Jules also visits local businesses--a fruiteria, a cigar shop, a cuban clothing store and more. It’s all here, only in Miami!
Greater Miami and Miami Beach are home to 13 ONE STAR MICHELIN Restaurants and even one TWO STAR MICHELIN restaurant. I enjoyed sampling Aegean flavors at Doya in the heart of Wynwood, enjoying shared plates from Greece and Turkey. The James Beard Foundation has also recognized many restaurants and chefs in Miami for high quality fine dining experiences. I got to attend the Taste of America: Miami event at Maty's, run by Chef Valerie Chang who won the Best Chef: South James Beard award, what a fun way to take part in Miami’s culinary scene.
Treat yourself to a meal on the waterfront at sunset at La Mar at the Mandarin, and indulge in some delicious seafood and spectacular views.
If you’re hot on the go, in Wynwood, stop at 1-800-Lucky, a yummy Asian food hall, and sample everything from dumplings and ramen and bánh mì from seven different vendors. In downtown Miami, enjoy Julia & Henry's Food Hall with three floors of casual cuisine and tasty cocktails.
In the Design District, I’m a softie for Sofia, a delicious Italian restaurant with stylish pink decor. On Lincoln road, IT Italian Trattoria was another tasty stop.
If you’re headed to the beach, one of my favorite local joints—a fancy sandwich from La Sandwicherie. I love to take a sandwich to-go to enjoy with my feet in the sand.
I visited Miami as part of Viator’s Dream Travel Job, filming and hosting 100+ videos in 20 cities in North America.
After dark, get a taste of Cuba at Havana 1957 at the Breakwater Hotel in South Beach, has live music and dance performances at La Perla Show with a mojito in hand. The Cuban cuisine hit the spot! Enjoy a night walk along Ocean Road to spy on the art deco district and get a feel for all Miami’s South Beach has to offer.
MIAMI: South Beach Cultural Food and Walking Tour
Take a break from the sandy beaches and please your taste buds with a South Beach cultural food and walking tour in Miami.
MIAMI: Museums and More
Beyond the colorful street art, I did a deep dive on the museum scene—there are a lot to choose from! There is a wide variety of art to see—from the free Institute of Contemporary Art to a tour of The Bass.
In the Allapattah Neighborhood, Superblue Museum and the Rubell Museum across the street are worth a stop. Superblue had so many interesting immersive artworks, whether watching flowers grow on the wall or transferring energy through lightbulbs, it was a wonderful experience. I was most impressed with the mirror maze space, really a delight to get lost in there. They also have a foam room, I need to go back and try that!

On the other side of the Botanic Gardens, you’ll find the Miami Holocaust Memorial which is powerful and worth a quick visit. You’re also not far from the beach, so you can easily dip your toes in the water.
